"In 2002, my wife and I rediscovered the Charlottesville area that we had only passed through some 22 years ago. We fell in love with Stanardsville in Greene County and we decided to purchase land and then build on it later. In the meantime, we decided to look for a builder that we could trust.

When you live some 400 miles away from the construction site, you better find a builder that you can trust. Over the next 2 years, we searched and we experienced so many disappointments that we almost gave up and decided that maybe we should sell our lot.

Then a lady from a neighboring lot suggested that we call Jamie Wayland of O'Jennings Home Builders. We called him and he came immediately, and we sensed his honesty and integrity right from the start. Of all our experiences interviewing builders, Jamie was the only one who walked the lot with us on a hot day in July. It was important for me, the planner that I am, to sign a contract with a builder months in advance, so that I could have the security that I had a builder who could start construction and have it completed on or before my retirement date. From day one Jamie involved us with every decision and when we had a problem making a decision, he helped us make the right one. Consequently, we had no job change orders.

The house was completed right on time and we have made our final payment to O'Jennings Home Builders. After your builder receives his final payment, then the true measure of what constitutes a top quality builder begins anew. We have had a few minor problems in what I would refer to as the Maiden Voyage for our home; you are always going to encounter a few kinks with a new home, but again Jamie Wayland has been there on a moment's notice to correct any of these minor problems to our satisfaction, and I am sure that Jamie will be there for us if needed during the warranty period.
